This looks to me like a McDonald’s that has closed down in some kind of dystopian future — maybe I’ve just seen 28 Days Later (which, I have to say, was not even close to as good as Dog Soldiers, even though they’re not really about the same thing) too many times.
Not sure why I took this photo at an angle, but I think in retrospect, it might have been better to just take it head-on. Oh well.
In case you haven’t figured it out by now, I like taking photos of graffiti around the city. Here’s yet another piece I stumbled across.
I like that this piece is done on the natural grey of the wall, but with minimal effect of the paint drops — and the dripping effect is very well done.
This is really just one person just spraying over another, and over another, until you get a bunch of colours that are just mashed up together. Kind of its own art form in a sense.
I assume you’re supposed to lock your bicycle to these posts, since they say “Lock Bicycle to Post”. I guess no one was using them on this particular day.
This is the corridor where the arch in the last picture is located (it’s at the other end, around the corner). This looks to me like some kind of futuristic space station kind of place (admittedly a very vague description, but oh well). The blue lights on the ceiling are a nice touch with overall [...]
This is yet more graffiti I stumbled across on my walk home. Lots of bright colours in this piece, and the bricks show through really well.
I don’t know what I like about this photo so much, but it’s one of my faves. The light on the right and the stairs on the left seem to frame the graffiti in the centre nicely. Just my two cents on the photo.
These tulips are in the park across the street from my building (I think they actually belong to another building that is on the other side of the park). I was really impressed with the D60′s ability to capture colours exactly as they look — my old point-and-shoot always made things look kind of pastel.
