Not sure why, but this is probably my current favourite photo I’ve taken to date. It just kind of worked out.

The Science Centre had an exhibit about Mars, and this one of the things they had there. These are foods that could theoretically be grown on Mars and/or during the several years it would take to get there. There was another display of a bunch of freeze-dried astronaut food, which looked rather disgusting. Hopefully whoever goes to Mars will be growing their own food, as shown in this picture.

This is a shot I took at the Ontario Science Centre. They basically have this big room with all this junk in it, and you can build stuff out of it. It’s pretty cool.

Not the most charming thing in the world (the sewer grate I mean), but it still looks pretty cool up close.

What do all these things have in common? If you guessed they’re all nautical stuff, you win! This was taken on the way to Centre Island in Toronto.

Here’s some fireworks blowing up in Callander. The guys launching off the fireworks let the crowd get quite close, so you could literally look straight up and take pictures. Pretty cool.

There were fireworks pretty much all weekend here in Toronto. I took a few shots of the fireworks, but was a little late on this one. It ended up looking more like warp speed than fireworks.

There are times when I like to just play with settings on the camera and see what happens. This is the result of one of those experiments — where I focused on the “Don’t Walk” hand, set the camera to the lowest shutter speed, and just moved it around to see what came out. See if you can find the hand.

While this may look like some kind of trickery, it’s really just a photo taken a post that was made of shiny metal. I noticed that the light was reflected in a stretched-out kind of way, so I took a photo. And here it is.
