There are times when I like to just play with settings on the camera and see what happens. This is the result of one of those experiments — where I focused on the “Don’t Walk” hand, set the camera to the lowest shutter speed, and just moved it around to see what came out. See if you can find the hand.

While this may look like some kind of trickery, it’s really just a photo taken a post that was made of shiny metal. I noticed that the light was reflected in a stretched-out kind of way, so I took a photo. And here it is.

This was taken in Chinatown in Toronto, where limes (and fruit in general) are always cheapest. If you’re willing to hit a few Chinese supermarkets, you can always find the fruit you’re looking for at a cheap price. And where else in Toronto can you find decent pitaya?

This looks to me like a McDonald’s that has closed down in some kind of dystopian future — maybe I’ve just seen 28 Days Later (which, I have to say, was not even close to as good as Dog Soldiers, even though they’re not really about the same thing) too many times.

And this is after the food arrived. Pho is certainly one of my favourite meals — and Xe Lua Restaurant in probably some of the best pho in Toronto.
